Chee SJ and Jeyaratnam are two potential oppo to stand up for election. To make them bankrupt is a impasse.

Its ridiculous. since when are party members, who are bankrupt, allowed to stand for election? They are puppets i tell you. Puppets of you know who. To make it seem there is opposition, when it is non-existant.

82 out of 84 vs 2 seats opposing? yup, thats an election alright.

Why should I give a cent to JB Jeyaretnam?

His son Philip has more money in his bank account than what my two-room HDB pigeon-hole is worth.

Following on your "two-room HDB pigeon-hole", there are few incidents featured on TV programs.

One or two months ago, unhappy Woodlands residents told mediacorp. There lives mostly elderly people of above 60 years old and had to walk across two roads in order to do their shopping in the nearby neighbourhood. Why? Bec all of the shops, kopitiam, etc at their few blocks of flats were closed due to poor business. As more than 50% had polled for the closure of shops, so all shops were closed. One dentist wanted to continue his business but he was offered one small news-stand unit (one which you can find at the bus-stop selling newspaper, titbits, etc) locating within the block. He felt so funny bec how could he be offered such news-stand unit to continue to operate his business as a dentist.

Last night, another somewhat similar incident featured which happened at Boon Lay. A few blocks of old flats with residents, mostly elderly people in the 50s and 70s, were so unhappy bec they were told to move out within a short period of time and to relocate themselves to some where near to the new Boon Lay MRT vicinity with no amenities at the moment. The new MRT station at Boon Lay will only be built in 2009. And to go to the nearest market and shops would take 20-30 minutes walk According to them, they were offered some flats which have since been unoccupied for about few years already, to choose from. The question is since these unoccupied flats were available, why were they not told to relocate years ago and why at this sudden point of time? Moreover, compensation is not made known to them yet. These residents were unsure whether they would have to spend more than the compensation offered.

To recall, two other incidents – one at Chuan Park condo to make way for MRT and the residents were offered with so little money (i think $1 per acre) to move out and the other incident the collapse at Nicoll Highway which the shops were told to move out within one month and had also left them in distress with inadequate compensation and relocation problems.

How do much do garmen really care for its citizens??
