Social and political issues related to Singapore and the South East Asia region. A blog which attempts to do so in a non-trivial manner treating opposing views with the respect they deserve.
Contributions are welcomed from all regardless of your political persuasion.
Instead of complaining, why not by-pass the state media? Where are our opportunistic videeo bloggers? I think Soci will gladly host the videos of any Opposition party event.
The flags do look rather dated, and to be quite honest, gives me the creeps.
But then again have a look at this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Union_of_Fascists
and especially this little quote from the wiki on the British Union of Fascists.
"The BUF's flag was later adopted (and slightly amended) by the People's Action Party of Singapore, under Lee Kuan Yew, who was an acquaintance of Mosley while he was studying in the United Kingdom."
Makes me think that the party symbols, flags and emblems need to be sent to the marketing departments of every party.
Very interesting. And the PAP's lightening logo probably strikes down opposition and strikes *fear* in the hearts of voters. HeHeHe.
What makes me uncomfortable is really the white. We see men in white walking around armed with the threat of defamation lawsuits in the holy mission of protecting their whiter than white reputations. Creepy.
I know..! The uncanny resemblences of both flags are embarrassing enough. What next? Is the PAP going to start donning a similar white Ku Klux Klan uniform and go gay hunting??
do they have license for the gathering?
ReplyDeleteThis is the only legitimate day for such gathering by the oppo.
ReplyDeleteHard to come by to see this.
CNA is really biased and fucked up. All they showed the whole morning were pap candidates and their supporters. 140th all the way!
ReplyDeletei notinced that too

ReplyDeleteHmm... a flag with hints of the hammer and sickle? Communist Soviet Union is so 60s...

ReplyDeletefuken hell, they look like commies or facists... but then again so do the PAP...
